Project & foundation steps for children:
Eine Initiative von Dr. Michael Hoppe |
Otavi Namibia
The foundation steps for children has found a suitable partner for the third project in Namibia in 2011: the Johanniter-Heim Khoaeb in Otavi. The city of Otavi has approximately 7000 inhabitants and is located between Otjiwarongo and Etosha-Pfanne. The Johanniter has a boarding school for 110 children of black farm workers from the surrounding area up to 80 km from Otavi. The children are sleeping there and are not only being given three meals a day, but are also supported with personal help with their homework so that successful graduation from school will be the beginning of a better future. (more information www.johanniter-otavi.de.vu).
The Team in Otavi with Michael Hoppe |
steps for children is starting a pre-school with two teachers and 30 children (10 children of farm workers and 20 children from the surrounding slums) in this home which is supported by the management of the Johanniter home. Additionally we are going to build up a computer school with about 15 workstations in the course of the year.
