Drawing area 2-100
somehow everything is going faster and faster: I am still thinking a bit about my last project trip through Namibia in December 2021, where I had to leave earlier due to the quarantine requirement in Germany and the rapidly increasing incidences in Namibia. The incidences then rose very quickly to over 1.000. Luckily they are now under 100 again – so pack your bags and off to Namibia!

The new school year in Namibia started in January and gradually the number of children in the projects is increasing. There are significantly more than in the last Corona year 2021. In this context, I would like to tell you a bit about the incredibly great, committed and imaginative help that our Namibian girls and boys receive through schools in Germany: Many schoolchildren get involved every year with steps for children for the children in Namibia - with bazaars and festivals, charity runs and art auctions or promotional videos.

We would like to thank all participating students, teachers and parents for their commitment!

At another Highlight, which was made possible by the support of steps, congratulate we our longtime teacher Stephanus Santiago Narib. We are happy for him and wish him a promising future. And if you want to congratulate him personally, you can go to the next trip to Namibia stay in our guesthouses in Gobabis…

Enjoy reading our reports.

Even during the pandemic, the training courses, which last up to four years and consist of a combination of face-to-face, online and independent learning phases, were continued.

Through further training and further education in the areas of early childhood education and development, we would like to Strengthen caregivers and thereby sustainably improve the education of the steps children. The advanced training courses impart well-founded knowledge about the care of children in their different stages of development, about safety, health, hygiene and nutrition as well as didactic knowledge about the subjects English and mathematics.

Now co-finance a training course for one year proportionately and strengthen our educators and teachers!

New guardian angel children in Okahandja

16_Guardian Angel Children _Okakhandja from 2022 (12)
What a success - three former guardian angel children have already started studying, five more have passed their Abitur and are waiting for their grades to then also study. We would therefore like to expand the program further: In Okahandja we could at the beginning of the year 16 new guardian angel children record, tape. They have already been equipped with all the necessary school materials and are looking forward to the coming school year.
You too can become a guardian angel and give the poorest children and young people in Namibia future opportunities through education and care.
