In the steps facilities there is a focus on the end of the school year and the farewell to the summer holidays little farewell party celebrated. In all projects, the children are very happy when the gates finally open again after the holidays. Some children also come to steps during the holidays and do small tutoring courses or are looked after when their parents don't have time for their children.

... we actually didn't know until now, because in the last 15 years, since we planted small olive trees in the Namibian soil near Okakarara, we have been eagerly waiting for the first harvest. Well – we actually had an olive harvest this year! But one after anonther.

News from our Single Quarter facility
In Windhoek, our small Single Quarter facility has returned to everyday life for the kindergarten children. Here we play, eat and learn together with the teachers. The parents’ evening – which took place here in Namibia in the afternoon – was a success: Most of the parents were present, including some of the children's fathers. Ulrike Mai and Martin Schölling, who have been supporting the team in Namibia at administrative level for over a year, will discuss some topic areas with parents and legal guardians. For example, what the general daily routine in the kindergarten looks like with the learning program, meal times, when the focus is on games and sports and when the children's motor skills are promoted through painting and crafts. In addition, regulations regarding late arrivals and children not showing up without an excuse were discussed.
Overall, we can look back on a successful afternoon in which the parents took part and viewed with interest the learning materials that their children are already using in kindergarten. At this parents' afternoon we notice again that the community is increasingly recognizing the value of education and that fathers are also interested in their children's school success.

The children are always proud of their year in kindergarten and preschool - and rightly so.

We see the children from Okakarara here looking forward to their steps certificates. They proudly present the certificates they have handed out to their friends, parents, relatives and of course the volunteers. They are now being sent off for the Christmas holidays - after a celebration that many children and teachers have been looking forward to well in advance.

The children enjoyed it!

Healthy meals with vegetables every day from the garden - especially in Okakarara and Ongombobonde, the children really enjoy the taste of carrots, chard, potatoes, tomatoes, apples and beetroot. The pictures are showing one right now Beetroot salad with apples prepared so that there is a natural sweetness is created and no additional sugar is used. And a great plus point: the next morning the porridge was cooked together with the apple peels for the small children's breakfast meal. So everything could be used and tasted delicious too!

Together with friends, acquaintances and business partners, they enthusiastically took part in a good cause. Here passionate golfers met beginners - and they all had a common goal: to give children and young people opportunities and to strengthen them through education. Experienced golfers were able to work out their skills in the 4-man scramble, while other participants tried their hand at teeing off and putting with the help of a golf instructor. At the final tournament, the beginners had the opportunity to win one of the popular handicap courses.

Dear wph team, dear tournament participants, we would like to thank you very much for your commitment. This year an incredible five-figure donation amount was raised, exceeding the total from previous years.

The hajoona GmbH This year, steps for children supported, among other things, a Christmas wish tree campaign: donations needed were printed on many small stars and the employees, who had a small Christmas company event together, were able to do good with a QR code on the back of the stars. Donations were also collected for steps through another Christmas market campaign by employees.
