Another year full of hope and change is coming to an end, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your incredible support. Thanks to you, we were able to take many important steps for the children and young people in Namibia and Zimbabwe this year. Together we have pushed projects forward, overcome challenges and, above all, enabled many young people to have a better future.

The best nursing experience? It's not a single situation, but the overall feeling. After many shifts, which are sometimes emotionally challenging, I often go home knowing that I made a small difference in a patient's life. It's these moments when you feel like you've made a difference that make the job so fulfilling.

Our Mission in Zimbabwe
|
|
In Zimbabwe Since 2017, we have been continuously supporting children, adolescents and young adults in cooperation with the Stiftung Hilfe mit Plan and Plan International. In addition to professional support, we have been working specifically for girls since 2021 to prevent gender-based violence and to give girls and women equal access to education and income. To this end, we have extended our commitment in Kwekwe for another year: We fight for women’s empowerment on different levels and raise awareness about child marriage and early marriage. We educate young people, parents and adult community members to expand protection for children at risk of marriage.

The 8th wph Charity Golf Tournament ⛳️
|
|
|
In September, the wph charity golf tournament in aid of steps for children took place for the 8th time. As in previous years, donations to steps were requested instead of an entry fee. In addition, the “50 € per birdie” campaign by ICON Immobilien GmbH was able to generate further donations. In total, a collected a generous five-figure sum, which even exceeds the previous year's result.

The steps for children foundation was founded in Hamburg in 2005 by Dr. Founded by Michael Hoppe. She now works at eight locations in Namibia and Zimbabwe, where she is committed to improving educational opportunities for girls and boys from the slums. Over 2.000 children can take part in education every day at steps and the partner projects and eat a warm meal.

We would like to point out that in order to save personnel and resources that we would like to use in Namibia, we will issue the 2025 donation receipts in the first quarter of the following year and send them to you. For donations up to 300,00 euros, the corresponding bank statement can also be submitted to the tax office as simplified proof of donation. If a donation receipt is required earlier, please send a request to info@stepsforchildren.de.
