Dear steps friends,
Frederick Douglass speaks from my soul when he says: "It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." But even if we at steps for children primarily support girls and boys from an early age, we also take on the challenges of adult education and are happy if we can use them to create jobs in socially weak regions. In 2019 we were able to support over 9 children at 2.000 locations in Namibia and Zimbabwe. The first children from the steps pre-school in 2006 passed the high school exams in 2019.

More and more employees at or through steps are given the opportunity to increase their qualifications and income with further training in order to better care for their families.

All of this would not be possible without your loyal and growing support and I would like to thank you once again on behalf of all children, families and employees! We let the latter speak on behalf of Sussie in our newsletter.

Get through the stormy February well and look forward to an eventful 2020 with us.

Your Michael Hoppe

STEPS IN NAMIBIA

Good job, sussie!
Sussie works closely with the project manager Sonja Schneider-Waterberg in our office in Okakarara. In the video, she reports on her work, what steps it opens up for her and what she particularly appreciates in her work. Her youngest son is already familiar with steps, because our employees are given the opportunity to take their children to work so that they can receive comprehensive support and advice as early as possible.
Good job Sussie and thanks a lot!
