Locations of the steps for children foundation

Find out more about our locations in Namibia and Zimbabwe here.

Here is the general overview – if you would like to get involved, you can find more information at >> Participate in Namibia or >> Participate in Germany. Since we are dependent on donations, we urgently need financial support in order to provide the children and their families with food, to be able to continue to pay salaries and to be able to respond to the location-specific challenges. Find out more about ours here >> Donation requirements.

Our approach

Our Goal - Become independent of donations in the long term! Find out more about our sustainable approach.
By founding our own small businesses and by renting out real estate, we are getting closer and closer to this goal. The small companies are increasingly covering part of the costs of the social projects with the surpluses they generate. The foundation is cooperating with existing local organizations in Namibia. Steps for children takes up existing infrastructures in the country, expands and develops the individual projects with the help of friends, supporters and funding partners from Germany and Switzerland. Together with the already existing children's aid projects, sustainable solutions are developed and future prospects are opened up for the people in southern Africa. We offer people perspectives to stay and give them back their dignity.

Our work in Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, too, we work together with the Help with Plan and Plan International foundation. This cooperation has existed since 2017, in which steps for children particularly promotes income-generating measures and foundation founders dr Michael Hoppe acts in an advisory capacity. The management of the projects in Zimbabwe will be taken over by Plan International on site. In 2021 steps for children is particularly committed to young girls in order to promote independence with education and training so that child marriage can be prevented. You will soon find out how this is to be done here.
