When a door closes, a window opens somewhere else - in the best case, even in the same place. Goodbye Okahandja Samaritans - Hello "Ileni Tulikwafeni - House of hope and trust".

After six years of cooperation with the cooperation partner Okahandja Samaritans let's say goodbye to each other. The Samaritans will continue their small project and are grateful for the support provided by steps for children. But we have different ideas about cooperation and therefore go our separate ways.

We will still keep Okahandja as a project location:

Together with the very committed founder Meme Kauna of the project "Ileni Tulikwafeni" we are planning the next project cooperation. The project name means: "Come everyone, let's work together", A challenge that steps for children is happy to meet. Already in November 2018 Michael Hoppe met Meme Kauna and her husband Joseph on his project trip to see the project. Between 60 and 70 children are looked after in a kindergarten and a preschool. The soup kitchen even serves over 300 children in the area and always receives fresh vegetables from the associated garden.

In the past there was also an afternoon care for up to 100 children, which could not be maintained due to lack of funds. Steps sees a good way to provide support here!
