A successful event

On 29.11/70 was our general meeting of the steps for children eV association and our first hybrid event. Because we decided to open the event to interested parties and friends of steps for children who are not members of the association or who could not come directly to the event. It was an evening with many interesting contributions about steps and Namibia, which more than XNUMX guests listened to - both on site in Hamburg and online via Zoom.

A successful event - because the program started with a lecture on the current situation at steps, presented by the founder of the foundation, Dr. Michael Hoppe.

We then invited the author Erika von Wietersheim, who lives in Namibia. From her book Guten Morgen, Namibia! read and took us to Namibia with it, brought us closer to the history of the country and their own experiences on site.
After the reading, there were a lot of questions from the audience, which took up a lot of time, so we were no longer able to ask Erika the questions we had prepared. However, Erika von Wietersheim's answers are so valuable that we don't want to withhold them from you:

Finally, the volunteers from Gobabis, Paula Battermann and Leni Wohlgemut, shared a small report about their tasks and the events of the last few days from the project with us. At the beginning of their time as volunteers, Paula and Leni were at steps in Okakarara and then decided to go to steps in Gobabis. They are happy about this decision - so they also have the opportunity to get to know several steps for children facilities more intensively on site.

We would like to thank all the speakers involved and our volunteers for their commitment.

Paula

Leni

While Erika von Wietersheim and Paula and Leni from Namibia were connected via zoom, the fourth guest from the audience entered the stage live. He vividly reported on his trip in spring, on which he also got to know the steps for children projects personally.

It was an evening with many interesting contributions about steps and Namibia, which more than 70 guests listened to - both on site in Hamburg and online via Zoom.

We would like to thank all the speakers involved and our volunteers for their commitment.
