Hamburg Citizens' Prize 2025 for the foundation steps for children
✨ The steps for children foundation has been awarded the Peter von Zahn Memorial Prize as part of the Hamburg Citizens' Prize 2025! ✨
Der Preis
The Hamburg Citizens' Prize was founded in 1982 by the CDU Hamburg. It is a politically completely independent prize that honors people and institutions in Hamburg who have made a special contribution to the common good. The Peter von Zahn Memorial Prize is awarded for the commitment of Hamburg institutions and personalities abroad.
On behalf of the entire steps team, which gives children and young people in Namibia a chance for a better future through education and training and, as social entrepreneurs, establishes small businesses to strengthen local communities through jobs and training opportunities, foundation founder Dr. Michael Hoppe gratefully accepted the Peter von Zahn Memorial Prize.
We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Michael Göring very much for his appreciative words: "The Citizens' Prize/Peter von Zahn Prize aims to recognize and make even more visible what you and all your colleagues have achieved in Namibia. By awarding you the prize, we would like to show what the charitable commitment of a person who sees himself as a social entrepreneur can achieve in just under 20 years."
The award ceremony took place on January 23, 2025 in the large ballroom of Hamburg City Hall.
