Single quarters in Katutura

In the poorest part of town Windhoeks, Katutura, we have one new social institution was founded for children, which creates perspectives with educational offers and care as well as meals.

We are pleased that our new facility, the "Single Quarter" preschool in Katutura, will be able to start its work in April. We have rented and renovated a building on the property of the institution "Jakob Marengo" in Katutura. There is a classroom for almost 20 children, an adjoining room and toilets. The cooking area will be redesigned outside of the building, and a playground is in preparation. For this we need further support - at the end of the article you will find an opportunity to donate to the Single Quarter.

The building was completed in the Namibian summer. We see a few impressions of the work here.

The large plot on which the building stands is bordered by a wall and the entrance is guarded. This ensures that no unauthorized people can enter the site and that the children have a protected space to play and learn.

The newly hired teacher, Rautia Shikongo and the cook Secilie ekandjo have been looking forward to finally welcoming the children in April for several weeks. In the photo above we see her together with Martin Schölling, member of our National Coordinator Team.

We are happy about the support for the new playground of the steps facility "Single Quarter" in Katutura. A total of €2.100 is required for this.
