For more health: steps employees receive further training in healthy nutrition
Two colleagues from the steps Okakarara team took part in a Nutrition for Health workshop in December 2024 as part of the nutrition initiative. Afterwards, they processed what they had learned and passed on essential information and findings to their colleagues - in an internal mini-workshop in the large hall in Okakarara.
“The workshop not only showed us how important it is to pay attention to our diet, but also how simple changes in everyday life can have long-term positive effects.”
Eveline Ketjivandje, Office Manager Okakarara
Which foods are healthy?
Eveline from the office and other colleagues report that their attitude towards food changed a little at home and at work immediately afterwards. "Sugar consumption in particular has taken on a central role in our everyday lives." Here are some of the most important findings that helped Eveline to make changes in her health through healthy eating:
- Less sugar, more energy: I now use a lot less sugar at home and pay attention to what my daughter and I eat. I especially dilute drinks like lemonade and juice with water to reduce sugar consumption.
- Health for the Next Generation: My one-year-old daughter does not have any sugar because I am convinced that this is beneficial for her development and health in the long term.
- Small changes, big results: By cutting back on sugar and fat, I've already started to lose my belly. It's the small but sustainable changes that make the biggest difference.
- A wake-up call for the team: The workshop was not only an insight for me, but also for my colleagues. Everyone started to eat more consciously and healthily - a real team change towards better nutrition and well-being.
