Enabling better educational opportunities - that's what we did with the social measures at steps for children. Together with local educational institutions, up to 2.000 needy children and adolescents from the poor districts in Namibia and Zimbabwe are supported five days a week. steps ensures that basic human needs are met: Security, nutrition, stability.
In the South African country of Namibia steps for children is represented at 6 locations with a total of 8 projects. Except for Foundation project in Okakarara we always work in partnership with local aid organizations. A major advantage for the success and the deeper impact of the projects: The local people are rooted, can rely on existing infrastructures and are familiar with the different cultural customs. However, steps not only supports projects financially, but also through entrepreneurial expertise and advisory activities. In addition, teacher and staff meetings as well as further training of steps are initiated, which sets a high quality standard.
