My name is Vincent Rothe. I am 19 years old and was a volunteer for 3 months at steps for children in Namibia. My assignment went from January 7th, 2020 to April 5th, 2020. The project I participated in is in Okakarara, a small town near the Waterberg.

There I worked with two annual volunteers and another volunteer who was also on the project for three months. The project in Okakarara is very diverse, it consists of a kindergarten, a crèche, a preschool, afternoon care and a soup kitchen. Accordingly, we split up and worked with the teachers and educators.

Various tasks had to be done, such as looking after the toddlers, doing homework for the older children, but also practical tasks. You are rewarded every day by the children's reactions. The work was a lot of fun for me, also with everyone who worked with me on the project. Unfortunately I had to leave earlier due to the corona crisis, but hope to visit the project again as soon as possible.

A lot of hustle and bustle on the seesaw!
Vincent is always a partner for learning and playing fun

Dear Vincent, on behalf of the steps children we thank you very much for your commitment, which had to end too early and we look forward to when you come to visit our projects again!
