Gestartet mit „If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands“ und vielen weiteren wie dem „steps-Song“ und der namibischen Nationalhymne.

[:en]

Doro and Leonie are the new weltwärts volunteers in Okakarara and since mid-August in the project. Here they report how their week so expires:

This week Sports was the morning of course back in fashion and today really had many children (almost 40). After our usual start (race around the house, balance, bounce, circle) we sang a few songs. Started with „If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands“ and many others as the „steps-Song“ and the Namibian National Anthem. That was great fun, the kids love to sing and want prefer not stop Teachers of steps have also participated actively and thus we had a great start to the morning!

In the afternoon was then again Afterschool Care. After we had done the homework with the kids, we went with some to Marlene in the art space and have tinkered and drawn. This week was all about the subject of elephants. We got by Marlene detailed instructions how elephants are drawn and they then painted with charcoal and cut.

Every day at the end of the afternoon, there are employment cookie round. Here every child is asked a question, and if it answers them correctly, it receives a cookie. Since the children have really big trouble 1 × 1 (also in 7th grade!) There are mostly small math problems, but also English translations or general knowledge (eg capital of Namibia) are queried.

The kids are really nice and they immediately close to the heart, even if they are sometimes a little bit naughty.
