Even in the first few weeks, we are already receiving pictures from all three locations: Okakarara, Gobabis and, most recently, Rehoboth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 7 volunteers introduce themselves below.<\/p>\n<p>Okakarara:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201eI\u2019m <strong><em>Carina Marxsen<\/em><\/strong>, I come from Hamburg and I am 18 years old. Since August 2018 I have been volunteering for steps for children in Hamburg and now I am finally in Okakarara working for steps!<br \/>\nIt is wonderful to be hugged by the children every morning in the project. Their laughter while playing is still so carefree and comes straight from the heart. That touches me very deeply.<br \/>\nWhat I like best is the after-school care (After School Care = ASC) and Numberland. In ASC, you have the opportunity to create activities for the children yourself. Numberland is simply fantastic, because the children not only learn numbers but also shapes and names.\u201c<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201eMy name is <strong><em>Jule Hellwig<\/em><\/strong>. I come from M\u00fclheim an der Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia. I became aware of steps for children through Volunta and the project in Okakarara interested me in particular. Above all, I like that we <strong>have many different tasks<\/strong> and are also allowed to <strong>act independently<\/strong>. I also really like Numberland and sport.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Gobabis:\u00a0<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11505 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stepsforchildren.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Dominik_Rebecca_Lisa_Gobabis_kl.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"412\" height=\"348\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hello!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are the volunteers from Gobabis: <strong><em>Dominik Buller<\/em><\/strong> (18 years old, from Hamburg), <em><strong>Lisa Kullick<\/strong><\/em> (19 years old, from Lippstadt) and <strong><em>Rebecca Harte<\/em><\/strong> (23 years old, from Hamburg). \u00a0We are working here in the most varied areas of the steps for children project. Our main task is to help in the nursery school in the mornings and to look after the children with homework support in the afternoons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the first few weeks after our arrival, it was still the holidays, so we first taught the holiday class maths and took on various tasks, such as making different pieces of furniture in the carpentry workshop.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201e<em>What we especially like is the <\/em><strong><em>variety<\/em><\/strong><em>, which the project offers, so that we can contribute our ideas and choose an area that suits us particularly well. We feel very at home here!\u201c<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11506 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stepsforchildren.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Lara-und-Isabelle-2Rehoboth_kl.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"463\" height=\"347\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rehoboth:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Lara<\/em><\/strong> from Reutlingen and <em><strong>Isabelle<\/strong> <\/em>from Dresden are both here in Rehoboth for a year. In our partner project Bridge of Hope, they work in the kindergarten and <span style=\"color: #990033;\"><strong>greatly enjoy the atmosphere that prevails in this project.<\/strong><\/span> They get on well with the other staff members and appreciate the many opportunities to contribute their own ideas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #990033;\"><strong>We would already like to thank you warmly for your dedicated support and look forward to your first reports.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Willkommen in Namibia!
