The Soroptimists <\/strong>(from the Latin \u201esorores optimae,\u201c meaning \u201ebest sisters\u201e) are one of the world\u2019s largest service organizations for working women. Social and political engagement is the central concern of the \u201cbest sisters\u201d: they are particularly committed to ensuring unhindered access to education and training for girls and women, as well as their economic independence and lasting employment opportunities. As an NGO, Soroptimists are represented at national, European, and international level in various UN sub-organizations.<\/p>\n
