Tomatoes, peppers, watermelons and honeydews as well as pumpkins have been sown or are currently being transplanted. The employees who tend and cultivate the vegetable garden in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stepsforchildren.de\/en\/inform\/projekte\/projekte-in-namibia\/okakarara\/\"><b>Ongombombonde<\/b> <\/a>maintain and cultivate it, are highly motivated and are facing the biggest challenge at present: large swarms of Quelea red-billed finches, which fly over the fields in huge flocks and eat a great deal of the cultivated vegetables, especially the tender seedlings. In addition, mongooses and ground squirrels join them.
