{"id":40042,"date":"2021-07-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-03T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/steps.eliasarndt.de\/in-tiefer-trauer\/"},"modified":"2021-07-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-07-03T22:00:00","slug":"in-deep-sorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stepsforchildren.de\/en\/in-tiefer-trauer\/","title":{"rendered":"In deep mourning"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>IN DEEP MOURNING<\/h2>\n<p>With deep sorrow, we bid farewell to Milly Bock, our project manager in Rehoboth.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container\" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Milly obituary\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/570334141?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>In deep mourning and with heavy hearts we must inform you that <strong>Melvyrine Bock<\/strong> after suffering a severe case of Covid on <strong>28 June 2021<\/strong> has passed away. We are devastated and mourn the loss of our project manager from Rehoboth, who will leave a great void for her husband, her children and grandchildren, colleagues and all steps children.<\/p>\n<h4>We have been working with Milly since 2013<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Melvyrine was a strong, determined and socially very committed woman, with whom we have worked since 2013. She coordinated our partner projects <strong>Heart for the Children <\/strong>(until 2019) and <strong>Otto Xamseb, <\/strong>since the end of 2017 we have also been project partners of the social project she founded <strong>Bridge of Hope<\/strong>. This consists of a kindergarten, a pre-school and a private primary school and, besides children whose parents can afford this school, also takes in children whose parents cannot afford the monthly school fees. In addition, she devotedly looked after 11 steps guardian angel children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Milly cared for the project's own children, but also for children from the surrounding poor neighbourhoods. With the soup kitchen newly built by steps for children in 2019, she offered daily hot meals to hundreds of external children as well, to save them from famine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She supported the project manager <strong>Otto Xamseb<\/strong> actively with the bookkeeping and also managed our apartment buildings in Rehoboth, which generate income for our social steps projects.<\/p>\n<h5>We will miss her big heart<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Milly always put the well-being of others before her own and was also very committed in the community. We will <strong>Melvyrine's big heart<\/strong>, her trusting, cheerful and reliable nature, and her sensitivity to the concerns of the Namibian communities very much. She will be greatly missed by us as an active partner at steps for children and will leave a great void that we cannot fill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We would like to express our sincere condolences to her husband, her children and the entire family. In the midst of their grief, we wish them to find what Milly worked for all the days of her life: <strong>A bridge of hope<\/strong>. A hope that helps us all overcome the darkness and pain of these days and weeks and lets us look to the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.steps-community.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">steps for children foundation<\/a> we will provide the bereaved family of the deceased with financial support for the funeral, firewood and food instead of floral arrangements.
