Theodor-Heuss-Schule in Pinneberg does good deeds<\/h2>\n

For several years, a group of pupils at the Theodor-Heuss-Schule (THS)<\/strong> in Pinneberg has been working to, get involved socially.<\/strong> The commitment began as an association with a view to an orphanage in Tanzania. In 2021, this AG became our club \u201eTHS does good deeds\u201c.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year, the school organises a sponsored run and a Christmas bazaar. At this year\u2019s sponsored run<\/strong> all pupils, many teachers and external runners 60 minutes <\/strong>around the school. Before the run began, each participant had sought out sponsors. They set a donation amount per kilometre run. In addition, food and drinks were sold at various stands, as well as raffle tickets for a tombola. All prizes were donated by companies. In total<\/strong> THS was able to raise over 34,000 euros from the sponsored run!<\/p>\n

Jams made from berries, handmade soap and bird feed<\/h4>\n

This year\u2019s Advent bazaar took place on 24.11.2021 and therefore had the atmosphere of a Christmas market. The fellow pupils had juiced berries, cooked jams, made soap and made bird feed themselves.<\/strong> At many weekend meetings, items were created that we were able to sell at a large number of stalls. A total of 3984.67 euros was raised there \u2013 they outdid themselves.<\/p>\n

Who does the school do good deeds for?<\/h4>\n

The money raised this year is so much that the association decided not only to support an orphanage, but also further 15 global, social and environmental projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every member of the school could suggest projects. The entire student body selected 15 projects from the suggestions, each of which is to receive funding of \u20ac1,000. steps for children was up for selection and was chosen among these 15 projects.<\/strong> At the bazaar, the foundation was represented by a small stand. Bags and aprons from the sewing workshop in Okakarara<\/a> were sold and visitors were told about the projects. Interest was great, especially among upper secondary students who can imagine doing voluntary work after school.<\/p>\n
