{"id":40099,"date":"2022-10-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/steps.eliasarndt.de\/unsere-schutzengel\/"},"modified":"2022-10-18T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T22:00:00","slug":"our-guardian-angels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stepsforchildren.de\/en\/unsere-schutzengel\/","title":{"rendered":"Our guardian angels"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Why should I become a Schutzengel?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our Schutzengel are a tremendous support for especially motivated, socially excluded and poverty-threatened children and young people in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Namibia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Namibia<\/a>. We also want to further expand our support programme so that we can continue to take in new Schutzengel children every year.<\/p>\n<h3>Because our programme has a lasting impact:<\/h3>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The drop-out rate of supported children is significantly lower than among non-Schutzengel children.<\/li>\n<li>Children from the Schutzengel programme have a higher average grade in their report cards than the class average.<\/li>\n<li>Early pregnancies are less common than among young people outside the programme.<\/li>\n<li>Young mothers return to our educational institutions after giving birth in order to continue attending school.<\/li>\n<li>Since the start of our support, 13 of the supported girls and boys have already completed their Abitur.<\/li>\n<li>Six of them have already started university studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An outstanding achievement by children who have grown up in the Informal Settlements.
