Dear steps friends,
The last weekend of Advent is something very special this year: over the past few days, our education centres have celebrated the festive end of the year - moving moments that make it clear how much strength and confidence education can give.

As the year draws to a close, we look back on the commitment of so many people in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and around the world, whose dedication shows that solidarity and humanity are alive and well. You are all helping to make our work not only possible, but effective. We present a few inspiring actions in this newsletter.

During this festive season, we would also like to draw your attention to our new donation shop. Perhaps you will find an effective Christmas present there?

We wish you a cosy 4th Advent and happy holidays.
Cordially
Michael Hoppe

Christmas farewell to the holidays

The graduation ceremonies at our locations are a moving highlight every year. The children present songs, dances and short performances that they have spent weeks rehearsing. Parents, grandparents and siblings come together to celebrate their children's successes, both big and small, as well as their graduation from kindergarten or pre-school. The moments when the pre-school children proudly receive their certificates are particularly touching - often accompanied by beaming eyes and loud applause. The celebration traditionally ends with singing together and a small feast, which makes the strong local community tangible.

Every year, the graduation ceremonies show anew how much is possible through continuous support, reliable nutrition and good education. They are a shining example that every step counts.

2025 - active for steps

Once again this year, numerous committed people are showing how diverse and creative support can be. Whether through sporting challenges, musical projects, regular yoga sessions or personal initiatives - activities are being organised everywhere to open up new opportunities for children and young people in Namibia.
In the following article, we present some of these inspiring commitments and say from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you to everyone who supports steps for children with so much energy and heart.

The steps for children foundation was established in Hamburg in 2005 by Dr Michael Hoppe. It is now active in eight locations in Namibia and Zimbabwe, where it is committed to improving educational opportunities for girls and boys from poor neighbourhoods. Over 2,000 children can take part in education and have a warm meal every day at steps and its partner projects.

We would also like to point out that in order to save personnel and resources, which we would like to use in Namibia, we will issue and send you the donation receipts in the first quarter of the following year. For donations of up to EUR 300.00, the corresponding bank statement can also be submitted to the tax office as simplified proof of donation. If a donation receipt is required earlier, please send an enquiry to info@stepsforchildren.de send.

With best regards
