Since 2008, Lindie Maria has been working at the pre-school of Light for the Children in Gobabis, the co-operation partner of steps for children. She is a founding member of the educational institution and laid the first stones of the school. She first started in the soup kitchen and later took on her own class. In addition to the 30 pupils she teaches and looks after, she also takes care of the Guardian Angel programme of steps for children at the surrounding schools. As a trusted person for the children, Lindie Maria plays an important role in the team and makes a major contribution to everyday school life. Although she also has a large family to look after in Gobabis, she is simultaneously attending Year 12 to further her education. Her big dream is to work here in the community as a social worker in order to support the people in her area.
