Since 1972, the „International Day of the Environment“ has been observed every year on 5 June. Across the world, a wide range of events, talks, activities and initiatives take place on this day to draw attention, among other things, to the importance of using natural resources sustainably. Sustainability is also a central issue for steps for children in the implementation of our projects – both in educational work with children and young people and in the use of resources and the economic viability of the sub-projects.
Through our solar cooker production and use in Gobabis, the use of the solar-powered pump for watering the vegetable garden and the water heated by solar energy at our second guest house in Okakarara, we consciously pay attention to the careful use of natural resources, while at the same time saving material and energy costs.
