Congratulations to our partner project Light for the Children in Gobabis on its 17th anniversary!

The celebratory birthday event took place on 12 October 2016 and was attended by numerous guests. The children of the project danced and sang. Henke Olwage, founder and project manager of Light for the Children, gave a moving speech. To thank him for his tireless commitment, the children serenaded him. We look forward to many more years together and thank Henk and all the staff for their commitment to Gobabis!

The event room was lovingly decorated by the teachers.

To celebrate the day, the children performed a traditional dance that they had practised diligently in advance with their two teachers Santiago and Nicky. Henk was delighted to receive a serenade.

After the official programme, guests could look forward to a delicious buffet and those who wished could purchase handmade sewing products for a small donation.

Thanks to the many employees and teachers, Light for the Children has been doing wonderful work on the outskirts of the poor neighbourhood in Gobabis for 17 years. We are delighted to be cooperating with this committed project and look forward to many more years together!
