Training in Otavi

[:en]

During the May holidays, Selma Mukuve, Desiree Shunyuni and Agnes Naibas, the three pre-school teachers of steps for children – Johanniter PrePrimary School, took part in a training course at the “Amos Meerkat skool” Namibia. The Johanniter Home Khoaeb Otavi provided its facilities for this, and Mrs Susan du Toit, project manager in Otavi, took care of refreshments with her staff. The 13 course participants came from various rural areas, including Tsumkwe in Bushmanland and farms in the surrounding area. Some of these women and men teach up to 30 children under a tree without any funding and with only very little school material. Amazing and admirable what these people achieve there! After a week of training, the course participants returned home well equipped with teaching materials for their children.
