[…] Wednesday lunchtime gets dramatic! For several weeks we have been doing theatre with some older girls from the Afternoonclass. The aim is to stage a small play, which is to be performed at the graduation ceremony at the end of November. The girls are enthusiastic, especially when they are asked to imagine walking over hot sand, marching around like police officers or splatting like a bag of paint against the wall. At the end of each lesson we rehearse a small scene, which is then presented to the whole group.
Every two weeks on Thursday afternoon there is a workshop for teachers, where games, materials and methods are discussed. It is pleasing to see the teachers playing „Blind Man’s Buff“ or crawling through a „spider’s web“ with full commitment. They are open and curious about new ideas and inspiration.
The week ends with liver sausage and peanut butter. At the teachers“ meeting everyone can raise their concerns and discuss new ideas and plans.“
