On Friday, 27 July 2018, the farewell for our weltwärts volunteers Tabea and Anneke took place in Okakarara. They were bid farewell with much love and a heavy heart.

Over a cosy get-together with homemade cake, Anneke and Tabea looked back on their year in Okakarara with steps for children and talked about how much the project and the people had grown close to their hearts. All the teachers, the cooks and other staff, as well as Sonja, the manager in Okakarara, also praised the fantastic collaboration with the two of them. As volunteers, they were part of the project’s day-to-day activities and, over 12 months, made their very own contribution to the children’s learning and growth and to the progress made in the various steps.
