Footballs for children

Footballs for children

Footballs for children – Liquor retailer brings footballs to Okakarara (Namibia) and creates the joy of playing at 31 degrees.

At the beginning of April, 65 footballs were handed over in Namibia to the staff of steps for children. And of course to steps children, who will be kicking these footballs in future.

The campaign was made possible by the youth football club Kinzigtal, based in Hesse, and the online spirits retailer African Spirits. JFV Kinzigtal donated the leather balls together with its sponsor Globus Baumarkt, and African-Spirits managing director Markus Giesbert took care of the transport on his business trip to Namibia this year. And because Giesbert is also a children’s coach at JFV, he took it upon himself to organise a little football match with the steps for children children too. As a result, 25 children including Giesbert (an emergency stand-in veteran footballer) sweated it out in the OK stadium for almost 30 minutes at just under 31 degrees. Okakarara at almost 31 degrees for almost 30 minutes. „The worst thing is – even if you stop kicking, you just keep sweating,“ said Giesbert after the mini training session. In any case, the Namibian children have firmly resolved to train diligently and one day, as the Namibian Warriors, teach Hansi Flick & Co. a lesson. They learned with „Footballs for children.“

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to JFV Kinzigtal, Globus Baumarkt and African Spirits managing director Markus Giesbert for the donation of the balls and for taking care of the transport! This brought great joy to the children, who will long remember the special game and for whom kicking with real footballs will be motivation to keep training and improve even more.
