Our founder was previously an entrepreneur
Inspired by the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Hamburg-based entrepreneur Michael Hoppe founded the non-profit foundation steps for children in 2005 with the aim of sustainably improving living conditions – especially for children and young people – in Namibia and Zimbabwe. To this end, the foundation combines social commitment with entrepreneurial action and thinking. Through education and training, we empower children and young adults in Namibia and Zimbabwe to break the cycle of poverty through their own efforts – thus promoting help for self-help. At the same time, we establish small businesses and create jobs and training positions. In a sewing workshop as well as in guesthouses, apartments and accommodation for trainees and other small businesses, we provide regular incomes. 100% of the profits generated flow into the social projects.
How you can support us
Your company can support our work in many different ways. Here are some ideas for how you can put Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into practice in your company:
- Support our work in Africa with a corporate donation.
