What is it about?
At the age of 58, he founded Dr Michael Hoppe the steps for children foundation. It has been supporting the education of children in Namibia and Zimbabwe since 2006 and helps them to help themselves with workshops and vegetable growing.
During the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, families' sources of income have collapsed and the population's food situation is catastrophic. In conversation with Prof Dr Matthias Rompel, Head of the Southern Africa Department at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, will address the following questions:
- What can an individual achieve in development cooperation?
- How entrepreneurial can a development project in Namibia be run?
- And what motivates older people to change the world with a fresh start?
