How an inquiry became a creative project
A few weeks ago, we received a special message:
Linda Verweyen, 28 years old from Dortmund, planned a three-week stay in Namibia and was looking for a way to make a meaningful contribution despite the short time frame. Through our offerings, she came across the Social leave – and got in touch with a wonderful idea.
Since Linda is a professional filmmaker, studied art education, and regularly gives workshops for children and young people, she offered to contribute her skills on site. Although a traditional assignment was not possible due to the short duration of her stay, together with center coordinator Jackie Sanjath and volunteer Antonia a creative solution was found:
A film workshop for the children in Gobabis.
Linda brought her camera, developed a small workshop concept, and worked with the children on their own little film ideas. This also produced material about the workshop itself – as an insight into the creative work on site with the children.
Dear Linda – thank you very much for your initiative, your creativity, and your commitment to our children in Gobabis. We were delighted to meet you!
