An eventful year in 2017 shaped our work at steps for children. On 29 November 2017, we were able to present a wide range of activities to our support association steps for children e.V. at the 11th general meeting in Hamburg. Alongside our support association members, numerous guests attended and received information about the latest developments from all project locations as well as our programmes and partners.

After the opening and welcome by our board member Dr. Michael Hoppe and all items on the agenda of the general meeting, Michael Hoppe then presented all the important activities and developments of steps for children in 2016/17. In addition to the progress in our social steps such as our guardian angel programme or the steps homes, there was a detailed presentation of our income-generating measures. In this context, Kathrin Hartkopf, Managing Director of the foundation Help with a Plan, and Michael Hoppe reported on the new joint project and their trip to Zimbabwe in November.

The evening ended with impressive stories from committed steps supporters who reported on their experiences in our steps projects in Namibia.. In moving images and words, volunteer Anton Rathgeb, former volunteer Pitt Reimann and the headmistress of Eppendorf Grammar School, Dr Languth, described their different experiences, which they would not want to miss..

We would like to thank all members, supporters and guests for this wonderful evening together!
