Michael Hoppe did it! After he had already been among the winners of the startsocial competition and received the Peace Dove as well as the Federal Cross of Merit, the Zugabe Prize was presented to him by the Körber Foundation on 4 June 2019.

Michael Hoppe is donating his prize money of 30,000 euros to steps for children. The prize money is intended to further improve the children's education in Namibia through the Schutzengel program, support teachers* and enable more orphaned children to be taken in by steps homes families.

“Another part is to be invested in the income-generating steps in order to create more jobs and generate revenue from the projects for the projects. Organizational measures, better training for employees* and new income-generating projects are necessary for this,” Michael Hoppe stated.
