...for our female volunteers who worked in the projects at steps. There were quickly no return flights left that could be booked. After Namibia had closed its borders, the female volunteers remained in Okakarara at the guest farm of Sonja Schneider-Waterberg and her family; the female volunteers in Gobabis were able to find refuge in Windhoek, as were Rebecca and Lisa, who completed their Voluntary Social Year in Rehoboth.

It was repeatedly said that the federal government would collect the volunteers scattered all over the world. Aon 28 March the departure plans were finally put into action and by now the two short-term volunteers are no longer waiting for their flights. All volunteers are safely back with their families in Germany.
