How we empower people in Zimbabwe
In this article you will learn how we at the steps for children foundation support people in Zimbabwe. In particular, we support income-generating measures and training for local people. Since 2017, the steps for children foundation has been cooperating with Plan International and Stiftung Hilfe mit Plan.
Here, not only income-generating measures are financed, we also support the people behind them. Through intensive and regular knowledge transfer such as training courses and further education provided by our cooperation partner Plan International on site.
Here, parents, adolescents and also a group of “Out-of-School” youths learn in training sessions how they and their children can protect themselves from Covid-19 and which rules need to be observed, negotiation strategies in markets when they want to sell the products generated through their income-generating measures, or what the feed composition for the chickens must be and where new feed can be sourced or grown.
660 parents and guardians as well as 330 children benefit from these measures, because the training and cultivation opportunities sustainably establish food security.
