How we empower people in Zimbabwe

How we empower people in Zimbabwe

In this article you will learn how we at the steps for children foundation support people in Zimbabwe. In particular, we support income-generating measures and training for local people. Since 2017, the steps for children foundation has been cooperating with Plan International and Stiftung Hilfe mit Plan.

Here not only income-generating measures are funded, , we also support the people behind them. Through intensive and regular knowledge transfer such as training and further education from our cooperation partner Plan International on site.

Here, parents, young people and also a group of „out-of-school“ young people learn in training sessions how to protect themselves and their children from Covid-19 and which rules to observe, negotiation strategies in markets when they want to sell the products they have produced through income-generating measures, or what the feed composition for the chickens should look like and where new feed can be sourced or grown.

From these measures 660 parents and guardians as well as 330 children benefit, because the training sessions and cultivation opportunities sustainably build food security.
