Anna Schnittker in the Hamburg steps office

[:en]

We are delighted to have Anna with us in the Hamburg steps office as active support for almost a month now. She will now introduce herself:

Bild_Anna_Schnittker„Hello, my name is Anna Schnittker and I began my internship at steps for children in mid-July 2016 and will support the team over the next two months in its various tasks.

Alongside my Master’s degree in History at the University of Hamburg, I would like to use the semester break to get to know the work of a foundation more closely. I chose steps for children because I wanted to learn more about the tasks and areas of work of an NGO. What impressed me most about steps were the many different projects and partnerships with local partners in Namibia.

I also find foundation work a great way to connect with my interest in history. It is exciting to learn more about the historical background of Africa and the local living conditions, and to help bring about change through my work at steps.

Now that I have been here for four weeks, I have made a good first impression and so far have done many different things. The tasks range from administrative work to event planning and research tasks. And along the way, of course, I have learned more about the great projects and volunteers in Namibia.

I am curious to see what else lies ahead and look forward to being a member of the steps team over the next few weeks.“

Thank you very much for your great commitment!

We are pleased to have Anna with us, for nearly a month now, as strong support in the steps Hamburg office. Here she introduces herself:

Bild_Anna_Schnittker„Hello, my name is Anna Schnittker and I started my internship at steps for children in mid-July 2016 and will support the team in its diverse tasks over the next two months.

Alongside my Master’s degree in History at the University of Hamburg, I would like to use the semester break to get to know the work of a foundation more closely. I chose steps for children because I wanted to learn more about the tasks and areas of work of an NGO. What impressed me most about steps were the many different projects and collaborations with local partners in Namibia.

In addition, foundation work can be well combined with my interest in history. It is exciting to learn more about Africa’s historical background and the living conditions on site, and to actively participate in bringing about change through my work at steps.

After being here for four weeks now, I have gained a good first impression and so far have done many different things. The tasks range from administrative work to event planning and research tasks. And incidentally, I have of course learned more about the great projects and volunteers in Namibia.

I am curious about what will happen next and look forward to being a member of the steps team in the coming weeks.„

Thank you for your great support!
