The company „Küchenzauber“ from the vocational schools II in Delmenhorst continues to pursue big plans. Following a successful cooperative founding in May of this year, work is already underway on a new and exciting project. The students of BBS II, who have been supporting the steps for children foundation for quite some time through a wide variety of creative fundraising campaigns, are planning to travel to Namibia as a „flying classroom“ to visit our project in Okakarara, which is especially close to their hearts.

In recent years, numerous other major projects have already been put into practice under the leadership of educator Christina Dierk. The company „Küchenzauber“, which is primarily committed to current topics such as sustainability, fair trade and the processing of regional products, achieved first place out of a total of 30 schools in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia as a Fair Trade ambassador. Another successful project was the development of a leftovers cookbook as part of the „Don’t throw me away“ campaign by the regional environmental center Hollen, which was awarded the UNESCO flag.
The topic of sustainability also connects the student company with the steps for children foundation. With their wonderful dedication, the students together with steps for children built a bridge – from commitment in Germany to global commitment in Namibia.

Through part of the profits from their company „Küchenzauber“, which is donated to the steps for children foundation, sponsorships for children in our projects are taken on by guardian angels. In this way, the children receive a warm lunch every day and homework support. In addition, the costs for school clothing and books are covered. Thanks to this help, our guardian angel children can be given better prospects for the future.
A personal introduction to the children and our work on site would be a wonderful experience and an important one for everyone involved in this long-standing partnership.
We thank the student company „Küchenzauber“ for their ongoing commitment and naturally wish them continued success in implementing their plans. We look forward to welcoming the „flying classroom“ to Okakarara soon.
