At first glance
At first glance, one might think that the residents of Okakarara generally have good eyesight, because you practically never see anyone wearing glasses. However, this impression is misleading.
The fact that so few people wear glasses is because glasses are not provided through the public healthcare system, which provides healthcare to Namibian citizens, and most people do not have enough money themselves to buy glasses from an optician.
Relaxed reading
Some of our colleagues at steps also urgently need glasses to be able to read in a relaxed manner. One gets a headache from reading, another has red, burning eyes and yet another complains about both. The employees not only have to read a lot at work, but also as part of their training courses in order to successfully complete them.
At all steps locations
Our colleagues at other locations also need glasses. We will finance an examination and, if necessary, glasses for them.
Helping out
Help us to finance the glasses our employees need to improve their health and well-being and make it easier and safer for them to learn.
We need at least 20 pairs of glasses for our teachers at various steps project locations in Namibia.
