What connects Bill Gates with steps for children?

For both, it all started in a garage.

On 11 March 2006, we started in a vacant building in Okakarara, Namibia, with a sewing room in the garage and a preschool with a soup kitchen. 10 years after the first step, on 11 March 2016, there will be an anniversary celebration in Okakarara.

That is why, as a countdown to our anniversary celebration, we would like to surprise you with a small compilation of ten years of steps for children through a daily email from 2–11 March.

Sign up for our newsletter and join us in spirit on 11 March. We will report from Okakarara on our website and via Facebook Live with pictures on that day.

Yes, we have already achieved a great deal. We alleviate suffering, but it is still omnipresent and sometimes almost overwhelming. That is why, in the ten emails at the beginning of March, we would also like to introduce our current projects and their needs, for which we are asking for support. Donations can be made via our online form and to the projects listed there, or via our bank details.

I am delighted to have each and every one of you on board as companions along the way, whether with your good thoughts or through a helpful donation.

Warm regards, Michael Hoppe, from you and yours
