Your Christmas party for Empowerment! Would you like to celebrate Christmas with your friends and acquaintances, your work team or your family, and are you currently organizing a Christmas party? Then ask your Christmas party guests for donations instead of gifts this year. This way, you can help young people in Namibia have the chance of a fulfilling future through steps for children.
We have put together some points that you can use as a guide if you want to organise a Christmas party with a campaign for steps for children:
- Include a note on the invitation card that this year meaningful gifts are requested that make a sustainable contribution to positive change, educational opportunities and future prospects.
- Write the steps for children donation account and a clear keyword, for example “Müller family Christmas party” or “Team F Christmas party” on the invitation.
- Have you decided on a specific purpose for which the donations should be used? If you do not make a selection, the donations will be used wherever they are most needed. But you are also welcome to choose one of our funding needs: For example, together you can become guardian angels in time for Christmas.
- You can also ask us to create an individual fundraising campaign, so that you only have to send your guests a link or QR code.
- We can also provide you with flyers and posters or small, beautiful products from our sewing workshop in Okakarara, Namibia.
- Tell people about your campaign in your media channels. Send us a photo of your Christmas party, and then we can also feature you and your commitment in our media.
- Visit our steps facilities in Namibia and get to know us on site. This is the best way for you to see our work for yourself.
- We are happy to help you thank your guests and send you a report on how the Christmas donations were used.
The steps for children foundation empowers children and young adults in southern Africa to break the cycle of poverty on their own through education and training. We create income opportunities that secure people's livelihoods in the long term. In the long term, our activities should be financially self-sustaining.
We are convinced that education is not only a fundamental right, but also the key to breaking the cycle of poverty through one's own efforts.
The steps teams from Namibia and Germany wish you a cosy pre-Christmas season!

Important information about group donations
Dear supporters, you would like to get involved with steps and collect donations for us. Thank you very much. This is a great support for our projects in Namibia. We would like to point out that it is not possible under tax law for us to issue you with a donation receipt for a collective donation amount you have transferred or to name the names and individual amounts of donors involved in donation campaigns - according to the data protection rules of the GDPR. However, we are happy to provide you with the total amount of your fundraising campaign if you have agreed on a keyword. If you collect cash donations for us, we will issue donation receipts for the individual cash donors, provided that they also provide us with individual names, addresses and the date of receipt of the cash donation when making the collective donation. All individual donations made to our account as part of a fundraising campaign will, of course, receive a donation receipt if you provide your name, address and the agreed keyword.
