Christianeum

In changing circumstances, it was and is important for the Christianeum to find a convincing path between tradition and progress. The school’s distinctive language profile, with Latin as the first foreign language, trains logical thinking and a feel for language. It is also the traditional foundational language of scholarship. In addition to the classical foreign languages Latin and Greek, modern languages are also offered, such as Spanish, French, Chinese, Russian and English. However, Christianeum is not a language-focused grammar school; it also places emphasis on mathematics, the natural sciences, social sciences, religion and philosophy, as well as the use of state-of-the-art digital media. Aesthetic activities – several choirs and orchestras, BrassBand, visual arts and drama – are given special importance.

We want to use the opportunity at our school to act responsibly and
learn to take responsibility.

The Christianeum is one of the oldest schools in Hamburg and has been committed to steps for children for several years. The children and we would like to thank you sincerely for your support!
