Our founder was previously an entrepreneur
Based on the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Hamburg entrepreneur Michael Hoppe founded the non-profit steps for children foundation in 2005 with the aim of sustainably improving the living situation - especially for children and young people - in Namibia and Zimbabwe. To this end, the foundation combines social commitment with entrepreneurial action and thinking. Through education and training, we empower children and young adults in Namibia and Zimbabwe to break the cycle of poverty through their own efforts - helping them to help themselves. At the same time, we set up small businesses to create jobs and apprenticeships. In a sewing workshop as well as in guest houses, apartments and accommodation for trainees and other small businesses, we ensure a regular income. The profits generated are channelled 100 % into the social projects.
How you can support us
Your company can support our work in a variety of ways. Here are some inspirations on how you can practise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in your company:
