Farewell gift for running around

[:en]

The year of our weltwärts volunteers Katharina and Sophia in Okakarara came to an end last week. But before they left, they gave the children a wonderful gift:

“At the end of July, we finally put our plan into action: to invest the donations remaining from our circle of donors wisely in the project. The money for the new soft mat therefore came from companies, acquaintances and families back home. We integrated the mat into the obstacle course in physical education with great success and were twice as happy with every laughing child because we had contributed to it ourselves to some extent.

The kids eagerly did somersaults, rolled over the mat, jumped around on the mat and hopped off it in high arcs and kicked against it. We also took the mat out for the afternoon kids, and they too let off steam with somersaults, cartwheels and jumping around. The boys in particular were incredibly excited when we propped the mat against the wall and they were allowed to box away for ten minutes. And when, at the end, even two teachers who had initially been sceptical threw themselves onto the mat with a running start, it was finally fully accepted!“

Many thanks for your fantastic commitment, Kathi and Phia!

This year our weltwärts volunteers Catherine and Sophia in Okakarara went last week to end. But before their departure they have yet made the children a wonderful gift:

The kids diligently did somersaults, rolled around on the mat, jumped around on it and hopped down in a high arc, and kicked against it. In the afternoon, we brought the mat out for the kids, who also ran wild with somersaults, rolls and jumping around. The boys in particular were overjoyed when we put the mat against the wall and they were allowed to punch away at it for ten minutes. And when, in the end, even the two initially skeptical teachers were thrown onto the mat with a running start, it was finally completely accepted! “

Thank you for your great commitment, Kathi and Phia!
