Great support in anniversary times!

Svenja Blomel is currently supporting us in the steps office. She was and is a very important ally in the organisational team around the Charity Dinner. She gave the event a touch of glamour, whether through preparing slide shows, fully looking after the tombola, her ideas for social media and much, much more... here are her impressions of these sometimes very hectic days:

„Moin moin, I’m Svenja and have been an intern at steps for children for around two months now. By chance, I ended up at steps right in the hot preparation phase for the Charity Dinner for the 10th anniversary, which we successfully pulled off on 17 June. I certainly couldn’t have chosen a more exhausting time to get a feel for the work of steps, and yet I am very glad that it turned out this way.

Planning every last detail, securing tombola prizes and making one or two Facebook posts was so incredibly much fun that I wouldn’t want to miss a single moment of the journey.K800_CharityStepsforChildrenCC_9

All the experiences I have had so far (and surely all those still to come) have already given me an incredible number of ideas for my professional future and for what I actually want to do with my previous education – where the road should lead for me: I am currently in the final stages of my Master’s in International Politics and International Law at Kiel University, and I am now even more convinced that I want to devote myself in the future to the work of NGOs such as steps for children. I can definitely only recommend an internship at steps: a great team, a pleasant working atmosphere and lots of freedom for your own involvement!“

The Plan of even the smallest details, canvassing of raffle prizes and the tinkering of one or other Facebook Posts has so incredibly enjoyable that I do not want to miss a moment of the way.
