At Steps for Children too, we are grappling with the current situation. As the situation in Germany has worsened, measures have also been introduced in Namibia to protect people from the coronavirus. Flights are being suspended; neither departure from nor entry into Germany, as well as other countries, is permitted. The trigger for the immediate response was the confirmed COVID19 infections of two Spanish tourists. Due to the situation, celebrations and gatherings within the next 30 days are being cancelled; school and kindergarten operations, both state-run and private, will be suspended within the next two weeks.

Our employees in the projects are working on a solution to ensure, despite significant restrictions, that food provision can continue at least, without exposing children and adults to the risk of infection. Of course, we will keep you updated on this.
