LIVE from Namibia – Updates from Michael Hoppe

We are delighted to invite you to our first live report from Namibia this year. At the moment, I’m once again out and about in the steps for children projects – fortunately, you can’t really feel any effects of the coronavirus crisis any more.

However, the effects of the inhuman war in Ukraine, with the associated restrictions on many resources, are also very clear here: The diesel price is rising from 17 N$ to over 20 N$, but above all the prices of staple foods are shooting up – the price of sugar will rise by 20 % next week, and the media are also reporting an increase in prices of 3-8 % for maize meal, rice and bread. Once again, this hits the poorest of the poor especially hard, as they can no longer afford these prices and are once again reliant on meals in soup kitchens . I’ll tell you more about this next Thursday in a Zoom meeting live from Namibia and look forward to plenty of participants.
