Together with Stefan Schultheiss (National Coordinator) and Melvyrine Bock (Coordinator for the projects in Rehoboth), we discussed further cooperation with the head of our partner project Otto Gamseb during my project visit to Rehoboth.

Since we began supporting the project in 2013, a great deal has changed: For one thing, all the children now regularly receive meals at the soup kitchen, which is primarily financed by the income from the steps rental apartments. Following the decision of the Children's Advisory Board Hamburg and a donation from Children for a better World e.V., a new playground was built, and five former preschool children have been part of our Guardian Angel Program since January and continue to be supported by steps for children on their educational journey. To this end, we hired a teacher for afternoon care at Otto Gamseb who helps with homework. In March 2015, Sonja Schneider-Waterberg (Project Manager in Okakarara) and Sabine Bohlen-Roß (primary school teacher and educational advisor from Hamburg) spent one week in Rehoboth providing further training for all the teachers.

And our support continues: as soon as we have raised enough donations, this project too is to receive a new school building with two additional classrooms. By constructing a new building, up to 100 children in total can be supported under better learning conditions.
