Our weltwärts volunteers, Katharina Wagner and Sophia Eckerth, report on what was going on in Okakarara before the holidays:
Last week we volunteers came up with a few new ideas for all areas. Starting with sport in the mornings: with both preschool classes and both kindergarten classes, we tried wheelbarrow races, a new racing game and Musical Chairs during the week. The children took a little while to understand the system, but in the end it worked really well and they had great fun.

This week, the daily game sessions were under the motto „puzzles“. We first picked out the most gifted preschool children, who were even able to solve the puzzles for the older children by the end. For many children, doing puzzles is a completely new challenge, and the little ones often tirelessly try to hammer unsuitable pieces into shape with their fists – usually in vain. But even the new kindergarten children were delighted to solve a small six-piece puzzle by the end.
