What does Regina from Gobabis do?

The steps homes Child Regina stays on. She feels at home with her steps homes family in Gobabis. In the meantime, she has Matriculation This is comparable to the Abitur in Germany, and she is currently improving this in courses at the NamCol (Namibian College, which is a state training programme) in order to have the opportunity to complete higher education and perhaps even become a teacher. 

When asked why she would like to become a teacher, Regina answers: 

„It's the interest of my teachers. They are used to enjoy their career. And they also teach kids to prepare them for their future. I would like to do that for the younger ones to have a future like mine.“

When she is not learning herself, she helps others and takes on the job that would normally be done by volunteers from Germany. Due to the crisis, she was given the opportunity to take on the work of the volunteers in the afternoon as a tutor. Together with Santiago and Sophia, she takes care of the new Multifunctional house to younger steps homes and Guardian angel children and helps organise the afternoon classes. 

Regina has already had many experiences in her life and had a child last year. Since 2017, she has been living with her siblings in a steps homes family in Gobabis.
